When discussing the most ambitious stage and light setups and installations, bordering on the impossible and integrating all media – lasers, thousands of light fixtures, and real-time motion graphics – we must first mention the SETUP studio.
Since its inception 6 years ago, they have set the highest bar and always uncompromisingly demanded the fulfillment of the most complex riders, and experimented with non-standard approaches, which, you must agree, requires considerable courage and self-confidence.
The second point I'd like to address separately is that when implementing projects of this scale, one encounters problems that don't arise in smaller projects.
Over the years, SETUP studio has developed a whole range of in-house developments and proprietary techniques for optimization, working with the project both on-site and during pre-production.
On the Person in Touch 007 stream, we invited the studio's сreative director and co-founder Pavel Zmunchila, who is the brains behind the studio and is directly involved in developing technical solutions using TouchDesigner, GrandMA, Capture, etc.
On the stream, we will discuss SETUP's latest projects, including the RHCP world tour, the challenges and difficulties, and the ideas and motivations behind their projects.

Pavel Zmunchila is a lighting and visual artist, as well as a set designer with over 12 years of experience in a vast field from modern theater and technological art to electronic dance music and stadium rock tours.
Started in 2012 as a technical director and lighting designer of a modern theater and music venue, developed further to a lighting designer of one of the largest musical theater projects in Russia.
Continued developing skills and expanding toolset, moved forward to creating custom control systems for lighting, lasers and real-time generative video content for music events.
In 2018, together with Stepan Novikov, Dmitry Znamenskiy and Anton Kochnev, founded Setup Design studio which successfully collaborates with various musical, art and festival projects as well as creates their own technological art experiences.
